    Season of Thanks
Supporting our St. Peter Parish mission
    • WE DID IT!

With grateful hearts, we are joyful to share that we successfully launched our first Season of Thanks and annual offertory pledge campaign.
Thank you for your attentiveness and generous response as we shared this initiative at Mass, mailed letters and pledge cards to parishioners, and provided pledge cards in the pews. Your participation made a meaningful difference in the life of our parish. Here are just a few highlights from the campaign.
          • Nearly $55,000 in increased offertory pledges for 2026
          • 30 one-time gifts totaling more than $13,000, given above and beyond offertory commitments
          • Over 35 new volunteers stepping forward to serve in various campus ministries
          • Over 50 prayer requests
          • More than 120 returned pledge cards, helping us update our parish contact information
          • Several thoughtful suggestions for the Pastoral Council as we continue working to build a more vibrant parish community

Thank you to each of you for your participation, prayerful discernment, and continued prayers. The Pastoral Council looks forward to building on this momentum as we encourage our parish family to faithfully commit their time, talent, and treasure in service to God and one another.

    • Considering an Increase in Your Offertory Giving?

Your generosity reflects both gratitude to God and a commitment to our parish mission. If you're considering an increase in your offertory giving, we encourage you to take a thoughtful and prayerful approach using the steps below.

      Practicing Intentional Stewardship

Stewardship is more than giving — it’s an expression of faith. Here's a simple guide to help you make giving a purposeful part of your spiritual life:

    • 1. Assess Your Finances

Review your current income, including past W-2s or financial records, to understand your overall financial situation.

      2. Evaluate Your Current Giving

Reflect on how much you currently give to the parish. Is it regular? Proportional to your income? Does it reflect your values and faith?

      3. Calculate Your Giving Percentage

Determine what percentage of your income you’re currently contributing to the Church. This will help you set meaningful and attainable goals.

    • 4. Take a Step of Faith

Even a small increase can be a powerful act of faith. Consider taking the next step in your giving journey — one that feels both generous and realistic.

      5. Set Giving Goals

A traditional tithing goal is 10% of your income:

      • 8–10% to the Church

      • 2% to other charities or causes

You don’t have to make a large change all at once — incremental steps make a big difference over time.

    • Not Ready to Increase Your Offertory Giving?

That’s perfectly okay. There are so many other meaningful ways you can support our parish—especially if you’re able to offer a little of your time. Every helping hand makes a difference!

      Ways to Get Involved:

      • Volunteer at parish events like festivals, fundraisers, or clean-up days

      • Join a ministry or small group that speaks to your gifts or interests

      • Support hospitality efforts (greeters, ushers, coffee & donuts, welcome teams)

      • Share your talents—music, tech, photography, gardening, writing, and more

      • Help with religious education or youth ministry activities

      • Lend a hand behind the scenes with office help, maintenance, or set-up needs

No matter your schedule or experience, there’s a place for you here. Your time and presence are a true blessing to our parish family.

Get Involved Today! Visit our ministries page to learn more and get contact info to volunteer. You can always call the parish office, too, at 419-524-2572.

    • Thank You for Your Commitment

Whether you give financially, volunteer, or simply pray for our parish, your presence and support help us grow as a faith-filled community. We are truly grateful.

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” — 2 Corinthians 9:7

    • Frequently Asked Questions

    • What is an offertory pledge?
      • An offertory pledge is a thoughtful and non-binding commitment to support St. Peter Parish through regular financial contributions during the upcoming year.

For the 2026 Pledge Year (January 1 – December 31, 2026), your pledge reflects your estimated weekly giving. While it is not a contract, it serves as a valuable planning tool that helps the Parish budget for ministries, staffing, programs, and operations.
Pledges are typically made during the 2026 Pledge Drive in Fall 2025 and can be adjusted at any time if your financial circumstances change.

In short, making an offertory pledge is a way of saying:
"This is what I plan to give each week next year to support my church, so you can prepare accordingly."
    • Why should I make a pledge?
      • Your pledge helps us plan our budget and allocate volunteer resources more effectively. We're also working to update and maintain our parish database, so please be sure your contact information is current when you submit your card.
    • How are the offertory funds used?
      • Your annual pledge supports funding parish ministries, outreach programs, faith formation, staff salaries, utilities, maintenance, and administrative costs.

    • What does this have to do with my faith?
      • Your generosity to our parish is an expression of your faith. We give sacrificially as a sign of our trust in God and our commitment to His Church.
    • Do I really need to make a pledge? I already give regularly when I attend Mass.
      • While any and all contributions made at the offertory are deeply appreciated, making a pledge help the Parish in a unique and essential way. Your pledge allows St. Peter Parish to plan more accurately and effectively for the year ahead. It enables Finance Council to create a responsible operating budget that supports the ministries, programs, and services we are called to provide.

Pledging also gives you an opportunity to be intentional about your giving. Planning ahead helps you align your financial decision with your faith and values, turning your regular support into a spiritual practice of stewardship.

Even if you already give most weeks, submitting a pledge - no matter the amount - has a real impact on our ability to serve the parish community!

Your pledge is not a binding contract, but a good-faith commitment that supports the ministry and mission we share.

    • I cannot afford to increase my offertory gift. Do I still need to complete and turn In a pledge card?
      • We understand that not everyone can increase their giving each year, and that’s perfectly okay.

However, completing a pledge card—even if your gift amount stays the same—helps the Parish:

        • Plan the budget for the upcoming year based on your intended giving.
        • Keep our parishioner records up to date, ensuring you receive timely communications.

If you’re unable to increase your financial gift, we warmly invite you to consider sharing your time and talents with our ministries. You can explore ways to get involved on the Parish website.
Every form of support—financial, time, or talent—is valued and essential to our parish community!
    • When should I make payments toward fulfilling my pledge?

      • You are welcome to make pledge payments at any time during the Pledge Year (January 1 – December 31, 2026), in a way that best fits your financial situation.

That said, regular, incremental payments—especially on a monthly basis—are especially helpful. They align with the Parish’s typical billing and expense cycle, supporting consistent and financially sound operations.

Whether you choose to give weekly, monthly, quarterly, or even in a single lump sum, your support is always gratefully received and helps sustain the day-to-day mission and ministry of St. Peter Parish.

    • Who can I talk to to learn more about this program?
      • You can talk to any priest or reach out to a member of the Pastoral Council.
    • What is ParishSOFT and why is it better than envelopes, checks, or cash?
      • ParishSoft is an automatic electronic payment from your bank account or credit card. It ensures you never forget your contribution and helps you plan your giving while tracking it for tax purposes.
    • If I sign up for ParishSOFT, will I get envelopes?
      • No, although you may receive one additional envelope mailing due to timing.
    • If I am already giving through ParishSOFT, how do I increase my giving amount?
      • You can contact Paula or Barb at 419-524-2572. They will be happy to walk you through the steps to make an increase online.
    • How do I learn more about ParishSOFT or increase my gift through ParishSOFT?

      • You can contact Paula or Barb at 419-524-2572. They will be happy to explain how ParishSOFT works and answer any questions you may have. They can also walk you through the steps to make an increase online.
    • I'm still paying on my Living Christ Campaign pledge. How do you expect me to increase my offertory giving at this time?
      • We want to assure you that there is no expectation to increase your offertory giving.

We simply ask you to consider a modest increase if you are able. However, if that’s not possible at this time, we kindly ask that you estimate your total planned offertory giving for 2026.

In addition, we’re working to update our parish database and are also seeking more volunteers to support parish life throughout the year.

Your time and involvement as a volunteer are just as valuable as financial contributions. Whether through giving, volunteering, or both, your continued support helps sustain our parish community.
